Truong Tan Sang

Trương Tấn Sang ( born January 21, 1949 in the present province of Long An, Vietnam ) is, since July 25, 2011 President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Life

Trương Tấn Sang was born in a village in the present province of Long An near Ho Chi Minh City. At the 11th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in April 2010 he was nominated as President of the Republic and confirmed on 25 July 2011 by the National Assembly. On this day he entered the successor of Nguyen Minh Triet. On the same day he proposed Nguyen Tan Dung ago as the new head of government.
