TSG Sprockhövel

The TSG 1881 Sprockhövel has approximately 3,000 members, the largest sports club in Sprockhövel and Ennepe -Ruhr-Kreis.

History

Today's club TSG 1881 Sprockhövel was built in 1938 by the merger of the company founded in 1881 Turnverein Sprockhövel with the 1907 under the name Athena Sprockhövel founded in 1909 and renamed sports club Sprockhövel.

1922 succeeded in rising to the highest regional league. Here played the then SV Sprockhövel until relegation in 1927 before 2,000 to 3,000 spectators, among others against FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund Duisburg SpV. After the club was dropped after the Second World War to the county league B, you could first tie in 1996 with the rise in the national league Westphalia back to past successes. After 1997, the direct walkover in the fifth division Westphalia succeeded, followed in 2000 by the first-time promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen. In the period following the TSG commuted between league and Association league. 2007 managed to return again to the Oberliga.

2008 followed directly as a Table of relegated again in the new Westphalia League 2, where, however, was the direct promotion to the NRW-Liga. However, the 2009/10 season ended the club again as Table, so again was the descent into the Westphalia league. As a fifth in the 2011/12 season, the TSG qualified for the reintroduced Oberliga Westfalen.

Venue

The TSG Sprockhövel bear its home games on the scale in 1936 sports ground in tree courtyard. For this former simple clay court since the early 1990s, a contemporary small stadium with artificial turf, running track and a covered grandstand was built.
