Tsijiore Nouve Glacier

The Tsijiore - Nouve Glacier (French Glacier de Tsijiore Nouve, including Glacier de Tsidjiore Nouve ) is a valley glacier in the rear of the Val d' Arolla in the Valais Alps, in the south of the canton of Valais. It has a length of 4.7 km and an average width of about 300 m and covers an area of 2.5 km ².
His starting point takes the Tsijiore - Nouve Glacier between the Serpentine and the Pigne d' Arolla on the ridge at an altitude of about 3,800 m. In its upper part there are about firnbedeckte passports links to three neighboring glaciers: the Col du Brenay ( 3'639 m) to Brenaygletscher, over the Col de la Serpentine ( 3'547 m) to Serpentinegletscher, as well as an ice-covered ridge to Cheilongletscher. The Tsijiore - Nouve Glacier initially in a northerly direction, and later to the northeast, flanked by the rocky peaks of the Pointes de Tsena Réfien (up to 3,500 m ) in the west and the Louettes Econdoues in the east. The narrow glacier is located at around 2200 meters above the resort of Arolla. The melted water flows over a glacial stream in the Borgne d' Arolla, which later united with the Borgne de Ferpècle and flows through the Val d' Hérens the Rhone.
During the high stage of the Little Ice Age united also touched the tongue of Piècegletschers (French Glacier de Pièce ) the Tsijiore - Nouve Glacier. The Glacier de Piece is a small hanging glaciers of 1.8 km in length and about 2 km ² in the north-eastern slope of the Pigne d' Arolla.
