Tsingoni

Tsingoni is a municipality with 10,454 inhabitants (as of August 21, 2012 ) in the French overseas territory of Mayotte.

Geography

The community Tsingoni lies on the western shore of the main island of Mayotte. In addition to the main town Tsingoni the villages Mroual, Combani and Mirereni form the municipality.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1521 as Chinkoni.
