Tupambaé is a city in the east of Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in the Cuchilla Grande in the south of the department of Cerro Largo in its sector 8 on the border Nachbardepartamento Treinta y Tres. Southwest is the village of Esperanza, while a few kilometers north-northwest of Cerro Tupambaé is located.

History

The city's name comes from the Tupi- Guarani. On August 19, 1926 Tupambaé was granted by the law Nr.7.984 the status " Pueblo ".

Infrastructure

On the southern edge Tupambaés leads to both a railway line and the Ruta 7 along, at kilometer point 304 tion modifiers leads at a Tupambaé ANCAP gas station is located.
