TurkSat-3USat

Turksat 3USat is a Turkish technology testing and amateur radio satellite, which was designed and built by the Istanbul Technical University.

Body and Payload

In Turksat 3USat is a CubeSat size 3U. The satellite carries a payload of a redundantly designed VHF / UHF linear transponder for amateur radio voice communication, a camera and a simple attitude control system.

In addition, a system for the controlled deceleration of the satellite at the end of its life on board. There are then two membranes rolled to increase the air friction in the atmosphere and to be thin to lose faster the satellite altitude.

Mission History

Turksat 3USat was launched along with Gaofen 1 and the secondary payloads CubeBug -1 and NEE -01 Pegaso on April 26, 2013, a Long March 2D from the Baikonur Jiuquan into space.
