Tustumena Lake

The Tustumena Lake is located on the western side of the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, near the town of Kasilof. The lake is about 40 km long and 10 km wide. It is mainly fed by the melt waters of the Tustumena Glacier. The Tustumena turn is the source of the Kasilof River. The area around the lake is an excellent hunting ground and is the venue for the Tustumena - sled dog race. The lake is also known for its glacier winds.
