Band History

The duo of Skinner and Rose joined in 1965 as a folk duo in London clubs. In 1966 she received a record deal with Immediate label, which the manager of the Rolling Stones, Andrew Loog Oldham belonged. From 1966 to 1968 published Twice as Much for Immediate Records. Stylistically, they were a harmony vocal duo in the tradition of the Everly Brothers, similar to their more successful contemporaries Chad & Jeremy or Peter & Gordon. Although they wrote their own songs, was a big part of their repertoire of cover versions of contemporary hits, accompanied by orchestral arrangements of baroque pop sound, including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones or the Small Faces. Her biggest hit Sittin 'on a Fence was the cover of a program written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and hitherto unreleased songs by the Rolling Stones had recorded in 1965, but only in 1967 brought out on their American LP Flowers. In the Netherlands, Twice as Much was made with the original composition True Story, a sequel to.

After 1968, the track of the two musicians loses. Skinner appeared in 1972 in the band Uncle Dog ( with singer Carol Grimes and guitarist and bassist John Porter) again, for their album Old Has he wrote most of the songs. He played together with Porter for Bryan Ferry, among others, on whose first solo album These Foolish Things. At the same time, he was from 1973 to 1977 member of the band Clancy. With Phil Manzanera, he was active in the 801 project and in 1979 was keyboardist on a tour of Roxy Music. Since 1982 he lives and works as a music producer, songwriter and composer of film music in Sydney.
