Twist in My Sobriety Tanita Tikaram is a song by. He appeared in the fall of 1988 as the second single from the album Ancient Heart, thus reaching in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the top ten of their respective charts.

History

The self-written by Tikaram piece was produced by Rod Argent and Peter Van Hooke. Van Hooke also played the drums, the keyboards Argent, Tanita Tikaram the guitar. Oboe sounds accompany the slow song. They were played by Malcolm Messiter. The song begins with the line " All God 's children need traveling shoes", title of a book published in 1986 by Maya Angelou.

The piece brought Tikaram comparisons with Suzanne Vega and Tracy Chapman one. Twist in My Sobriety reached number 2 in Germany and Austria, in Switzerland and No. 6 in the UK number 22 in the charts. 2001, the title for the soundtrack of the film Bandits was! ( Bandits ) were used.
