Two Groups Islands

The Deux Iles Groupes ( German: "Two groups of islands" ) are a group of two atolls in the central Tuamotu Archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. The group includes the atolls Ravahere and Marokau, of which only Marokau is inhabited. The Deux Iles Groupes belong administratively to the municipality Hikueru in French Polynesia.

The two close together lying atolls were discovered in 1768 by Louis Antoine de Bougainville for Europe. The term " two-group islands " is derived from James Cook.
