Two Men and a Wardrobe is a twenty -minute short film by Roman Polanski from the year 1958.

Action

On a sunny day will feature two men carrying a wardrobe, from the Baltic to the beach in Sopot. You are trying to bring the cabinet safely to land. The enclosure connecting the two chains them together. Only under joint assistance they are able to move the cabinet forward. When we finally arrived at the beach, they wear the closet aimlessly through the city. People who encounter them, run away from them or scold them. They are afraid of the two friends. Or is it the mystery of the cabinet or their absurd actions? After an odyssey through the city they end up back on the beach and disappear into the waters of the Baltic Sea.

Background

The short film has no dialogue, but is supported by the jazz music of the young pianist and composer Krzysztof Komeda, who in the 1960s wrote the music and to some legendary films Polański.

Awards

Roman Polanski showed the film in 1958 at the San Francisco Film Festival and won the Golden Gate Award.
