Tyler Brûlé

Tyler Brûlé ( born 1968 in Winnipeg, Tyler Brûlé Jayson full name ) is a Canadian media entrepreneur, journalist and designer.

Brûlé was born as the only child of the football player Paul Brule and the artist Virge Brule in Winnipeg. After high school he attended journalism school for two years and then started to work for the BBC, as rapporteur. Next he worked for Good Morning America, 60 Minutes and Fox and wrote for various magazines including The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, Elle, Star, The Sunday Times and Vanity Fair.

1994 Brûlé was shot during a shoot for Focus in Afghanistan, which left permanent damage to his left hand. During convalescence, he created the lifestyle and design magazine Wallpaper, which was launched in 1996. After a year wallpapers from Time Warner was purchased, Tyler Brûlé remained chief editor until 2002. 1998 he founded the design agency Winkreative, the brand design for swiss, the successor of the insolvent Swiss airline Swissair developed, 2002. In 2007, the first issue of Monocle Magazine Tyler Brûlés came out, which focuses on world politics, business, design and consumption.

Tyler Brûlé in 2001 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Society of Magazine Editors.

For the Financial Times Brûlé writes the weekly column " Fast Lane ", which appeared in a German version by the end of 2012 on Spiegel Online.
