Uberlândia Esporte Clube

Uberlândia Esporte Clube is a Brazilian football club from Uberlândia. The club was founded in 1922 and plays its home games at the Estádio Municipal João Havelange from, which seats 50,000 spectators. Currently the club plays in the fourth Brazilian soccer league, the Série D.

History

EC Uberlândia, Uberlândia Esporte Clube pronounced, was founded on 1 November 1922. The association has its seat in Uberlândia, to Belo Horizonte second largest city in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Since its inception, Uberlândia EC played almost always lower in Brazilian football leagues, success was achieved until today hardly. The greatest success of the organization is probably the gain of the second Brazilian league, the Série B in 1984. At that time they finished in the final in first place before Clube do Remo from Belém and thus promotion to the Série A. There occupied one compete in the first season in 37th place in the standings and thus had after just one season in the Brazilian Elite League again the passage in the second division. In 1989 it was 59th in the Série B and had descended into the Série C. Since you could not find in Brazilian higher leagues Uberlândia EC. Currently the club plays in the fourth division Série D, where, however, is not one of the best clubs and most recently was eliminated in the early rounds.
