Uli Biaho

The Uli Biaho Tower is a 6,109 m high mountain in the Pakistani Central Karakoram. The granite monolith is located in the Baltoro Muztagh and is located on the west side of the Trango Glacier, in the immediate vicinity of the well-known Trango towers. The summit was first entered on 3 July 1979 by the Americans Bill Forrest, Ron Kauk, John Roskelley and Kim Schmitz, who moved the 1,100 m high east face of the mountain, alpine-style on body, and after ten days were successful. Previously, a French team under the direction of Jean Frehel was only just failed at the north west pillar 1974. The 800 m high south face of the mountain was conquered by the Italian roped Maurizio Giordani, Rosanna Manfrini, Maurizio Venzo and Kurt Walde in a four-day climb-through.
