Ulli Jansen

Ulrich " Ulli " Jansen ( born June 5, 1931 in Krefeld, † July 19, 2006 ) was a German professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Ulli Jansen was one of the biggest idols in Krefeld Hockey. In the season 1951/52, he was awarded the German master KEV.

For the German national ice hockey team, he participated in 71 international matches, including three appearances at Olympic Games and four World Championships. In the Ice Hockey World Championship 1954 in Stockholm, he was awarded as the best German players.

Highlight of his career was probably beside the championship to attend the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley and the subsequent performance tours of the German national team at the world with performances in Japan, Hong Kong, Hawaii and Thailand. For his achievements in the sport, he was honored with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany.

The optician he led until his death in a specialty shop in Krefeld Krefeld and remained the sport of ice hockey still connected.
