List of German ice hockey champions

The German ice hockey champion is played with the men since 1912, with women since 1984.

Until 1948, the German Empire champion was determined in a final of the best teams, with the founding of the Federal Republic and the GDR Oberliga was introduced as the top division in both countries, which point best team won the championship. Championships in the German Empire (1912 to 1945)

The first seasons were clearly dominated by the Berlin Ice Club, which played out of the 28 championships 17 and an additional game could decide in communion with the SC Brandenburg for themselves. The German champion in youth football are played in the junior leagues, youth and students since 1980. In 2000, the German Development League (DNL ) was established as a new young German Elite Series.
