1983–84 DDR-Oberliga (ice hockey) season

The East German Ice Hockey Championship 1983/84 was dominated in the big leagues again from the SC Dynamo Berlin. Although the SG Dynamo White water could clearly decide the opening game itself, triumphed in the remaining matches excluding the old and new masters of capital, which thus secured the 11th title.

In determining the best BSG monsator Berlin was able to repeat their previous success only by goal difference against the arch-rivals Crimmitschau.

The best determination was, has become a tradition, held in Crimmitschau. While the A - group on the second weekend in March played their final round, the teams of the B group already met each other a week earlier.

Relegation ( GDR best determination - district league )

The Relegation end of January 1985 took place only.

The BSG Fortschritt Hohenstein- Ernstthal thus started in the 1984/85 season in the GDR best determination.

District excretion

The first round and the playoff game to the relegation place were carried out in December 1984. At the latter part took the BSG Fortschritt Hohenstein- Ernstthal part of the runner-up of the district Karl- Marx-Stadt, since the second representation of the BSG unit Crimmitschau was not entitled to advancement.
