1965–66 ice hockey Bundesliga season

The 1965/66 season of ice hockey league was the eighth season of the highest German Hockey League. German champion was the EC Bad Tolz, who was thus able to win his second title. The defending EV Füssen was after the first round, although unbeaten in the lead, but three defeats in the Champions round meant the end only second place. After only one years membership of the Bundesliga VfL Bad Nauheim dismounted in the league and was replaced by the Berliner SC, who returned to the Bundesliga after two years.

Winner of the re-imported DEV Cup was the SC Riessersee.

Mode

For the first time played the league with ten teams, also the course of the season should be made more exciting by a mode change. First, a single round was played with each team at the conclusion of the field a relegation round was divided again into a champion and this season with five teams and without entrainment of the preliminary round points.
