1950–51 Oberliga (ice hockey) season

The season 1950/51 the ice hockey league was the third season of the highest German Hockey League. German champion was Preussen Krefeld, which was able to win his first and only championship. Since the league for next season should be abgestockt to eight teams again went alongside the sporty EV relegated Tegernsee and Berlin Schlittschuhclub also the HTHC Hamburg and the WSV brown layer of a league from.

Mode

First, the twelve participants played a preliminary round in the form of a single lap in the groups south, west and north. Then a final round was played with five teams, for the first and second placed teams from the group West and South qualified directly. The last remaining launch site was played between the winner of Group North and the third-placed Groups West and South.

In the group there was no relegated West, the last placed the northern group went straight from out of the league. The two last placed the Southern group had to compete in a relegation match against each other. Since the groups North and South were merged in the course of Abstockung the League for next season, finally had to dismount and the second and third place of playful weakest Group North.
