Mode
Compared to the previous season extensive changes to the mode have been made to ensure with the aim of to the end of the season voltage. Like last year, try playing a single round, all twelve teams. After the group stage, for which the teams were divided into three groups of four teams began. Obviously, the incumbent leaders should not be assigned to usual the easier opponents, but the stronger teams like similar modes. The group division had the following appearance:
Group 1: First, Fourth, Seventh, Tenth, Group 2: Second, Fifth, Eighth, Eleventh, Group 3: Third, Sixth, Ninth, Twelfth.
The purpose of this group composition should be to bring together the field again close and reduce spacings. After completion of this second round, the eight highest point totals reached the champion round, was in played in a single round, carrying along the points of the German masters. The four teams with the worst score had in the relegation round, where two losers were determined in a double round. To get the voltage to the end, here the points were not taken, but all four teams started with zero points, which ultimately meant that the descent decision for the relevant teams in only four games fell.
The new competition format fulfilled its primary objective; Championship and relegation question remained exciting until the end of the season. However, there was considerable doubt as to the sporting justice of this Discharge. This was particularly true for the SC Riessersee, who had clearly done after the completion of the preliminary round with a six -point lead, which was melted by the second round on just one point, and was eventually overtaken in the final round, the Mannheim ERC and fell back to third place.
