Ulrich Born

Ulrich Born ( born May 15, 1950 in Barntrup ) is a German jurist and politician ( CDU).

Life and career

After graduation in 1970 Born took up studies in law and political science in Marburg and Munich. It was 1975, the first state examination, from 1975 to 1978 as a researcher at the Law and Economics Faculty of the Philipps- University Marburg worked and studied since 1979 in addition administrative sciences at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. After the second legal state exam in 1980, he worked as a Lecturer at the Faculty of the University of Bayreuth right and economics. In 1983 he received his doctorate with the work of the justification defense feigned attacks Dr. jur. and received in the same year admitted to the Bar.

Later Born a member of the General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg. He is currently living in Pingelshagen ( Northwest Mecklenburg County ).

Party

Born is a member of the CDU since 1967. After the political change in the GDR, he joined the country's policy of Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania and was elected Chairman of the District Association North West Mecklenburg. He is also the regional chairman of the Protestant Working Group (EWC) of the CDU Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania.

Member of Parliament

Born from 1994 to 2006 Member of the Landtag of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, where Deputy Chairman of the CDU. On 1 December 2009 he returned to the state legislature back as substitutes for the elected to the Bundestag Matthias Lietz. In the state elections in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern 2006, he had failed almost in Parliament constituency Northwest Mecklenburg II. In 2011 he was not re-elected to Parliament. He was council member of the Circle Northwest Mecklenburg and served until the municipal election in 2009 as president of the County Council.

Public offices

Born was appointed on 27 October 1990 as Minister for Justice, Federal and European Affairs led by Prime Minister Alfred Gomolka government of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. On March 14, 1992, he was dismissed by the Prime Minister from his office before Gomolka even resigned.

Public positions

Ulrich Born is an advocate of green genetic engineering in agriculture; he wants to gain access to GM seeds even small farms.
