Ulrich of Strasburg

Ulrich of Strasbourg, Ulrich Engelbrecht / Angel Berti, lat Ulricus de Argentina, (* 1220, † 1277 on the way to Paris) was a Dominican theologian.

He entered the Dominican order. Ulrich was a student of Albert the Great. After completing his studies (probably in Cologne), he worked as a lecturer at the Strasbourg Dominican convent and 1272 Prior to the German Dominican Province ( provincial ) selected. On the way to Paris, where it should read as Baccalaureus on the Sentences of Peter Lombard, he passed away.

Ulrich's main work is handed in four full manuscripts theological and philosophical compendium De summo bono (1265/1274 written ). This document can not be measured with the Summa of Thomas Aquinas, says Loris Sturlese, but nevertheless show a thoughtful architecture and a remarkable originality ( Sp 1253 ).

A letter book contains at least 13 Latin letters written Ulrich as Provincial.

A German sermon handed down a hamburger handwriting.
