Última Esperanza

The Última Esperanza Province is a Chilean province in the north of the Región de Magallanes y Antártica Chilena de la. It is bordered on the north by the Región de Aysen, on the east by Argentina, and on the south by the province of Magallanes.

For the province include the National Park Torres del Paine, the vast majority of the National Park Bernardo O'Higgins, the National Reserve Alacalufes and the Muñoz Gamero - Peninsula. It is named after the eponymous fjord Seno Última Esperanza.

The only urban settlement is Puerto Natales with 16,933 inhabitants. Other major settlements are Villa Puerto Edén, Villa Dorotea (both Comuna Natales ) and Cerro Castillo ( Comuna Torres del Paine ).

According to the results of Census 2012, the Province has 18,685 inhabitants, of whom 9,570 men and 9,115 women, on an area of ​​55443.8 km ².
