Umar Arteh Ghalib

Umar ARTEH Ghalib (* 1930) was Foreign Minister of Somalia from 1969 to 1977 and was appointed on 24 January 1991 Prime Minister of the country, just before the government under Siad Barre was overthrown and the Somali Civil War broke out. Formal Ghalib retained his office until 1997. He belongs to the clan of the Isaaq and was a member of the United Somali Congress.
