The three-band world championship for national teams (UMB ) in the Billiard Game type Carambolage (Discipline Three Band) hosted by the Union Mondiale de Billard, for the first time in 1981 in Mexico City.

History

After the next World Championships irregularly held - 1985 in Bordeaux (France) and in 1987 in Madrid ( Spain) - they form since 1990 in February, an annual highlight of the tournament calendar for the three-band sport and have the Festhalle Viersen also the event proper venue found.

The UMB and the Confédération Européenne de Billard ( CEB) have the German Billiard Union ( DBU ) is transmitted to host the three-band World Cup 2014; will remain so until then in Viersen the World Cup.

By 2013, 31 different nations have participated in the World Cup. In the first three World Championships participated in a total of 6 teams; from the 4th to the 10th, there were 12 teams. Game Mode

The game is played in Viersen on four match - Billards. Ranking and scoring

Unlike other tournaments at this tournament a ranking is performed according to the sum of the square numbers. The teams receive points attributed as the number of their final placement, ie: the winner (1st place) gets 1 point, second ( 2nd place) 2 points and so on. Teams who have not reported to the tournament get 25 points and teams that have registered, but then can not attend, will receive 50 points. So it is important to collect as few points as possible.
