Uncial 054
Uncial 054 ( ε in the numbering of Gregory -Aland, von Soden 59 ) is a Greek Unzialhandschrift the New Testament. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 8th century. The manuscript known as the Codex Barberini.
Description
The Code contains a portion of John's Gospel ( 16.3 to 19.41 ), together with some comments on six parchment leaves ( 29 × 18.5 cm). The pages were described single column with 36 rows. In a small part of the text the Ammonischen sections are included, but without any reference to Eusebischen canon.
The Unzialhandschrift belongs to the same manuscript as Minuscule 392 ( folios 7-391 ).
The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type with some non - Byzantine readings. Aland placed it in Category V with some hesitation.
History
The manuscript was ( hence the name) found in the 17th century by Francesco Barberini. The text of the Code of Tischendorf in 1846 ( Monumenta sacra ).
The code is located in the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana (Codex bar Rinus Graecus 521, fol. 1-6).
