Union for Europe of the Nations

The Union for Europe of the Nations ( UEN) from 1999 to 2009, a Group in the European Parliament. It included members of national conservative and eurosceptic parties that were not for the discharge of their country from the EU, however, insisted on the sovereignty of their countries.

History

The group emerged after the European elections of 1999 from the previous Group Union for Europe. Your connected the European political party alliance was for a Europe of Nations. With 44 MEPs from six countries UEN was in the period from 2004 to 2009, the fourth largest group in the European Parliament behind the Christian Democrats, Social Democrats and Liberals.
