United Nations Temporary Executive Authority

The United Nations Security Force in West New Guinea ( German security force of the United Nations in West New Guinea, UNSF ) was a UN peacekeeping mission, based on the UN resolution 1752 (XVII ) ( GV ) of 21 September 1962, took place from October 1962 to April 1963 instead.

The aim of the UN mandate was the control of the ceasefire and the assurance of public policy in Western New Guinea. The headquarters of the mission was in Hollandia, now Jayapura. The mission was led by Major General Said Uddin Khan from Pakistan.

UNSF was the police arm of the United Nations Temporary Executive Authority ( UNTEA ), an administrative mission of the United Nations, which ensured the smooth transition of sovereignty over West Papua from the Netherlands to Indonesia.
