Content

The central message of the " Global Declaration on Animal Welfare " is the recognition that animals are sentient beings and therefore deserve respect and consideration. The signatory States agree that welfare is a common objective for all countries and are committed to take all necessary steps to prevent cruelty to animals and to reduce the suffering of animals. The standards already achieved in individual countries regarding the welfare of animals should be encouraged, recognized and respected through improved national and international action.
