Simon Cowell

Simon Phillip Cowell ( born October 7, 1959 in Brighton ) is a British music and film producer.

Life

Simon Cowell was born in Brighton and grew up in Elstree, Hertfordshire, on. He began his career in the music industry as an A & R consultant for Sony BMG Music Entertainment. Cowell is the inventor and jury member of the British and American talent shows Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor, America's Got Talent and The X Factor USA. Previously, he worked as a jury member at the U.S. talent show American Idol and Pop Idol. The concept for the talent show The X Factor has been developed by his company Syco. In early 2010 he announced that he his job as a judge on American Idol gives up after nine years in order to devote more of his show The X Factor.

He also appeared in the show Superstar Worldwide for the United States among the jurors. Simon Cowell is known for his sometimes harsh comments to the candidates. He was to be seen among others in the movie Scary Movie 3 and speaks himself in the "American Idol" parody in the bonus section of the DVD Shrek 2 - The daring hero returns.

He was honored at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in the category of Favorite Villain.

Cowell is the father of a son named Eric, who was born on February 14, 2014.
