University of Kerala

The University of Kerala is a university with its headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the South Indian state of Kerala.

History

The University of Kerala was established in 1937 as University of Travancore by the Maharaja of Travancore, Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma. The university was the 16th University in India. In 1957 the state recognition and the name was changed to the University of Kerala.

The university has campuses in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
