University of Waikato

The University of Waikato, in its full name The University of Waikato ( Maori: Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato ) called, is a university in New Zealand. It is located in Hamilton, the capital of the Waikato region, and has a branch in Tauranga. It was founded in 1964. The Department of Māori Studies is unique in the world.

In 2011, about 13,000 people were studying at the university, of which 2,299 Māori and about 2500 students who do not come from New Zealand. This makes it the university with the highest number of Māori students.

Hamilton Campus

The University of Waikato in Hamilton has seven faculties ( Schools of Studies):

Tauranga Campus

The University of Waikato in Tauranga has six faculties ( departments):
