Urho Kekkonen's third cabinet

The Cabinet Kekkonen III was the 35th government cabinet in the history of Finland. There officiated on 20 September 1951 to 9 July 1953 ( 659 days ).

On 2 and 3 July 1951 elections were held in Finland. In September could Kekkonen's third cabinet with the Land League politicians Urho Kekkonen be sworn in as Prime Minister, although the Social Democrats had the Landbund replaced in the elections as the strongest. The majority of effective government consisted Land League, the Social Democratic Party and the Swedish People's Party, which had already represented in the Cabinet Kekkonen II. Only the National Progressive Party was no longer in government, the party had yet resolved in the spring of 1951.

In June 1953 Kekkonen announced his retirement because of persistent differences between Landbund and Social Democrats to a cost-cutting program that would prevent a looming recession. President Juho Kusti Paasikivi commissioned Kekkonen thereupon with the formation of a minority government. Kekkonen formed in the summer of 1953 with the Swedish People's Party, a new government, but only four more months remained in office until mid-November.
