Urs Schwarzenbach

Ernst Urs Schwarzenbach ( * 1948 in Küsnacht ZH ) is a Swiss financier and hotel owner, who lives mainly in England.

Life

The son of a printing company owner, he grew up in modest circumstances. In 1968 he started for the Union Bank of Switzerland to work and spent four years later to London. In 1976 he founded his own forex trading company.

Schwarzenbach's fortune is estimated at 1.5 to 2 billion euros. He alone has in England real estate valued at 300 million euros. He also owns property in Switzerland, Scotland, Australia and Morocco. Since 2001 he is the majority shareholder of the Zurich luxury hotel The Dolder Grand. In 2007 he bought for about 90 million Swiss francs a full English village with 44 houses. Shortly before, he had already bought the estate Dulham Court for 50 million francs.

Urs Schwarzenbach is the sponsor of the show jumper Steve Guerdat and makes him his stables Ruetihof in Herrliberg available. He also owns the Black Bears own polo team and is president of the St. Moritz Polo AG.

He is married and has a son and a daughter.
