Úrsula Heinze

Ursula Heinze de Lorenzo (also: Ursula Heinze, born 18 June 1941 in Cologne as Ursula Heinze ) is a German - Galician writer.

Life

Ursula Heinze studied German and English at the University of Cologne. After she had this study in 1966 successfully completed, she married the Galician linguists Ramón Lorenzo, whom she followed to Spain. From 1973 to 1977 she taught German at the University of Valladolid. Since 1977 she works as a freelance writer in Santiago de Compostela, and provides information in Galician language for broadcasting, press and literary journals. In her works in book form are predominantly narrative works in Galician; next they released since the nineties poems in German and translated from German into Galician.

Ursula Heinze de Lorenzo, 1989 was one of the founders of the Galician PEN Club, whose president from 1991 until 1995. Since 1995 she is a member of the PEN center of Germany. She was, inter alia, following Galician literary awards: the 1986 Premio Merlín for Young Readers, 1993 Premio Blanco Amor, the 1994 Premio Losada Diéguez and in 2005 the price of the Galician PEN Club.
