The USS Hepburn ( DE/FF-1055 ) was a frigate of the Knox class. She stood from 1969 to 1991 in service with the United States Navy. She was after Admiral Arthur Japy Hepburn (* October 15, 1877, † May 31, 1964 ), a veteran of the Spanish-American War, the First and Second World War, named.
History
The Hepburn was laid on June 1, 1966 at Todd Pacific Shipyards in San Pedro, California to Kiel. The launch took place on 25 May 1967 and commissioned into the Navy on July 3, 1969.
The ship was assigned to the Pacific Fleet, the home port was San Diego.
On 20 December 1991, the frigate was decommissioned, it still remained until January 11, 1995 in the register of ships of the Navy. The Hepburn was sunk on 4 June 2002 during the SINKEX 2002.
