The USS Michael Murphy ( DDG -112 ) is a destroyer in the United States Navy, who belongs to the Arleigh Burke-class and is the 62 unit of this class. The ship is to LT. Michael P. Murphy named a United States Navy SEAL, said in October 2007, posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor was awarded.
History
The ship DDG -112 was commissioned in 2002. In June 2010, Bath Iron Works laid the keel of destroyer. On 7 May 2011, the birthday of patron Michael P. Murphy, the destroyer of Murphy's mother, Maureen Murphy was baptized. The Michael Murphy has been launched on the following day.
The commissioning of the Michael Murphy was held in New York on 6 October 2012.
