The USS Montpelier (SSN -765 ) is a nuclear submarine of the United States Navy and is part of the Los Angeles- class. It was named after the city of Montpelier, Vermont.

History

SSN -765 was commissioned in 1987 and in May 1989 was laid at Newport News Shipbuilding in Kiel. On August 23, 1991, the body of Montpelier was launched, also was the ship's christening.
