The USS Whidbey Iceland (LSD- 41) is a dock landing ship of the United States Navy and is one of Whidbey - Iceland - class. It was named after the island of Whidbey.

History

LSD - 41 was given in 1981 as lead ship of her class in order. That same year, the keel of the ship was laid at the Lockheed Shipbuilding and Construction Company of Seattle, the launch took place in 1983. 1985 Whidbey Iceland was put into service.
