Utenbach is a district of the municipality Mertendorf in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).

Geography

The village Utenbach is about 10 km southeast of Naumburg ( Saale) at the Wethau. The border with Thuringia runs 1000 m south of Utenbach.

History

Utenbach was first documented in 1300.

Until the incorporation into the community Löbitz on December 31, 2009 and with Löbitz together after Mertendorf on 1 January 2010 Utenbach belonged to the administrative community Wethautal as an independent municipality with the corresponding Cauer hamlets wit and Seiselitz. Last mayor Utenbachs was Friedhelm Duderstedt.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing is the village church, which was built in the Romanesque style. The entrance gate is from the late Gothic period.

Transport links

The Naumburg (Saale ) by Zeitz leading national highway 180 and the north-east of lying Utenbach junction Osterfeld at the Federal Highway 9 are about 10 kilometers away. Utenbach lay on the disused railway line in 2000, Zeitz - Camburg.
