Utrecht-Marathon

The Utrecht Marathon ( official name Jaarbeurs Utrecht Marathon after the main sponsor of the exhibition of Utrecht) is a marathon in Utrecht. The program also includes a half marathon and a 10 - and a 5- km run.

History

The Erstaustragung found as Leidsche Rijn Marathon in 2000 to a point - to-point course between the suburbs of Utrecht Vleuten and De Meern instead. 2001, the event failed because of an outbreak of foot-and -mouth disease. In 2005, she was merged with the half marathon of Utrecht, which had been held from 1978 to 1998 in conjunction with a marathon, and renamed Fortis Marathon Utrecht. Since 2008 the race has its current name.

Route

The half marathon consists of a loop that runs from the exhibition grounds on Oudenrijn and De Meern to Vleuten and back. In a marathon, a turning point distance is additionally directly after starting back down to the south of the city center along the canals and the Sonnenborgh runs over, and completed a lap around the Leidsche Rijn Park in Vleuten. The 10- km run is identical to the second half of the marathon, the 5K run consists of a lap around the fairgrounds and an adjacent park.
