Uwe Gensheimer ( born October 26, 1986 in Mannheim- Neckarau ) is a German handball player.

Career

In the club

Uwe Gensheimer began in his youth when TV 1892 Friedrich field with the handball. In 2003, the 1.88-meter outside left for Bundesliga SG Kronau / Östringen, later the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. With the SG he increased in 2004 in the second handball league off, but the following season succeeded the immediate resurgence. When HBL All-Star Game 2006, he was he honored as rookie of the year.

2006, 2007 and 2010, he moved with the lion into the final of the DHB Cup, which was but each lost against HSV Hamburg and THW Kiel. 2011, 2012 and 2013 Gensheimer was chosen by the readers of Handball week to handball player of the year and was also top scorer in 2012 Handball - Bundesliga. He played with the Rhein- Neckar Löwen in the EHF Cup, the European Cup Winners' Cup and the EHF Champions League, where he was top scorer in the 2010/11 season. His biggest success was winning the EHF European Cup 2013.

In the National Team

Gensheimer was top scorer in the European Youth Championships 2004. Together with the German junior national team, he won the European Championship in 2006, he was elected to the All- Star team of the tournament. In 2007 he was elected vice-champion at the Junior World Championship in Ohrid (Macedonia) and Most Valuable Player (MVP).

November 25, 2005 Uwe Gensheimer performed his first mission in the German national team in Lemgo against Slovenia. Meanwhile, he has completed 87 appearances for Germany and scored 332 goals in the process. With Germany he took part in the European Championships in 2010 and 2012 and at the World Cup 2011.
