Uwe Langhammer

Uwe Langhammer ( born June 12, 1965 in Apolda as Uwe Roßmeisel ) was the last East German champion in the pole vault.

He began his career at SC Turbine Erfurt and SC Motor Jena joined in 1982. In 1985, he was charged with 5.30 m third in the East German athletics championships. From 1986 to 1990, he won five titles in a row. He improved twice the DDR record. The second record he achieved in the GDR Championships 1987 in Potsdam, this jump of 5.65 m was the highest leap in his career.
