Uwe Scherr

Uwe Scherr ( born November 16, 1966 in Amberg ) is a former German football player. He most recently served as sports director at Alemannia Aachen.

Scherr, who comes from a large family and grew up with ten sisters and three brothers, started his career at SG Siemens in Amberg. From there he moved to FC Amberg in Bavaria the league before he went from FC Augsburg coming, 1 FC Kaiserslautern in 1989. For nine years, the midfielder played in the 1st Bundesliga. In 1989 he first came for the 1st FC Kaiserslautern in Germany's highest football league used. With the 1 FC Kaiserslautern in 1990 he was the DFB Cup winners and 1991 German Masters. Because of its demonstrated benefits he belonged to the wider circle of the national team, but one match he did not complete.

For the 1992/93 season he moved to FC Schalke 04 in 1996 he went to the first FC Cologne, where he however - even injury - could not prevail. In 1998, he left Cologne and joined the Wuppertal SV on. After a year there he ended his career in which he scored ten goals in 183 Bundesliga games. Then Scherr returned to FC Schalke 04 and worked there first as chief scout. After the departure of Helmut Schulte Scherr was until February 2012 Head of youth department.

In May 2012, he took over as successor by Erik Meijer to the post of sports director of Alemannia Aachen. In June 2013 he announced that he will not extend the 30 June 2013 expiring contract at Alemannia Aachen. The reason he stated that the Alemannia can start again from zero only without him.
