Václav Rabas (organist)

Václav Raba ( born August 14, 1933, Dolni Bezděkov ) is a Czech organist.

Life

During his studies at the Prague Conservatory and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Jiří Reinsberger he drew attention to himself at international competitions.

1958 got Raba at the Prague Spring International Organ Competition - again the 1st prize and Titul laureate.

He was a professor at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and the founding director of the Conservatory in Pardubice. Among his students were Aleš Svoboda and Pavel Barta.
