Václavy

Václavy ( German Wazlaw, formerly Watzlaw ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers southwest of Rakovníka and belongs to Okres Rakovník.

Geography

Václavy is located on the northern slope of the source base of the creek creek Petrovický sloping ridge in Rakonitzer hills. To the west, extends the natural park Jesenicko. To the east of Nad Kostelem rises (537 m), in the southeast of Krakov (512 m) and the Dlouhy les (501 m ) south of the U Vrchu ( 522 m) and the Cerna kočka (552 m) in the southwest of V Jedlinách ( 544 m ) west of the Hokovský vrch ( 565 m) and in the northwest the Banska hora ( 576 m).

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1453 as the seat of Augustine of Václavy. In 1512 it belonged to Peter of Václavy, who also owned the goods Řeřichy, Šanov, Pšovlky and Hostokryje. In the middle of the 16th century acquired Václav Dlask of Vchynicko Václavy together with Řeřichy and hit both villages his estate Petrovice to. At the subsequent owners of Petro Vice belonged from 1569 Radslaw Wchinsky of Wchinitz and at the beginning of the 17th century Georg Hrobschitzky of Hrobschitz. In 1843 Watzlaw or Waclaw consisted of 28 houses with 215, mostly German-speaking inhabitants. After the abolition of patrimonial Watzlaw / Václavy formed in 1850 a municipality in the district court district of Saaz and Jechnitz. 1868 Watzlaw was assigned to the district Podersam. The schoolhouse was built in 1884. In 1930 lived in Wazlaw 190 people, in 1932 there were 210 After the Munich Agreement in 1938, the community was added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Podersam. 1939 the community had 135 inhabitants. After the end of World War II Václavy came back to Czechoslovakia, the German inhabitants were expelled. The Okres Podbořany was repealed in 1960, since then Václavy belongs to Okres Rakovník. The chapel in the village square was demolished in the second half of the 20th century. On 1 January 1980 Václavy was incorporated into Zavidov, on November 24, 1990 Václavy was wueder own. The municipality belongs since 1999 to the microregion Čistá - Senomaty.
