Vadim Devyatovskiy

Wadsim Dsewjatouski (White Russian Вадзім Дзевятоўскі, English transcription Vadzim Dzevyatowski, Russian Вадим Девятовский - Dewjatowski Vadim - Vadim Devyatovskiy, . Born March 20, 1977 in Nawapolazk ) is a Belarusian hammer thrower.

The Vice Junior World Champion from 1996 was 2 000 locked because of a doping offense for two years.

At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis, he was seventh. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he threw 78.82 meters and got away with it to fourth place.

In 2005 he presented on 21 July in Minsk with 84,90 m his personal record. At the World Championships in Helsinki, he was beaten with 82,10 m only by his compatriot Ivan Zichan and won silver. Shortly thereafter, he was victorious at the Universiade with 79.13 m.

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he won the bronze medal, and at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he was fourth.

In 2008 he arrived at the Olympic Games in Beijing on the second place. In December, the IOC recognized him from the silver medal after he tested positive for testosterone in the local doping control. Dsewjatouski that would have been locked as a repeat offender for life, brought an action against that decision before the International Court of Sport (CAS ), which his disqualification lifted in June 2010 because of a breakdown in the laboratory that analyzed the samples. IOC vice president Thomas Bach announced that the IOC will conduct further analysis to tilt the CAS ruling.
