Vaillant Group is an internationally active family in the field of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. The Group employs more than 12,000 people and generates annual sales of around 2.3 billion euros. Thus, the Vaillant Group is the second largest company of its kind in Europe. Business with wall mounted heaters, the company is the world market leader. The headquarters of the Vaillant Group is located in Remscheid, North Rhine -Westphalia.

History

The history of the Vaillant Group dates back to 1874 and began with the founding of an installation craft - master operation by Johann Vaillant. Some years later, in 1894, Johann Vaillant reported the patent for a new type of gas water heater "closed system" to. This allowed for the first time to heat water hygienically without combustion gases with the water came in contact. This was at that time is a technical innovation, with the Johann Vaillant shaped the development of the heating permanently. Same time, this opened up a new market segment. In 1924, another technical milestone followed with the development of the first central heating boiler. Important developments in the recent history form the launch of the first wall-mounted circulating water heater Circo - Geyser in 1961 and the first self-developed and produced wall heater on the basis of condensing technology in 1995. With the acquisition of the UK Hepworth Group followed in 2001, the internationalization and extension of the brand and product portfolio as well as the sales and production network. The internationalization was driven by the acquisition of a majority stake in the Turkish heating and air conditioning specialists Türk Demir Döküm Fabrikalari more 2007.

For several years, the Vaillant Group is increasingly focused on technologies based on renewable energy. In 2006 the production of heat pumps began on site in Gelsenkirchen. In 2008, the first production of thermal solar collectors followed an industrial scale. 2010 Vaillant developed the first zeolite gas heat pump and introduced in 2011, Europe's first system based on combined heat and power for the simultaneous production of electricity and heat in houses in Germany. For the latter, the company received the 2011 German Sustainability Award.

To date, the Vaillant Group is 100 percent family owned.

Brands and sites

The Vaillant Group brings together eight international heating technology brands under its umbrella. The Group's brands will be sold separately in the European and non-European markets performed. The company has locations for development and production in seven European countries and China. In Germany there are four locations ( Remscheid, Gelsenkirchen, Bergheim and Roding ). In Slovakia, Trenčín and Skalica is produced at the two sites. Other locations include Nantes / France, Belper / Great Britain, Bozüyük / Turkey and Wuxi / China.

Products

The product portfolio of the Vaillant Group covers across brands from the spectrum of modern heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. The company positions itself as a provider. Its core business includes wall hung and floor standing boilers on the basis of condensing boilers, solar thermal systems for hot water and space heating, heat pump technologies, pellet heating, combined heat and power systems, hybrid systems, ventilation systems for low energy houses, control engineering, gas and electric water heaters, air conditioners, heaters and related services. The majority of product revenue accounted for by efficient and green technologies.

For several years, the Vaillant Group strengthened with the acquisition of companies and product developments their activity in the field of micro combined heat and power, so the combined heat and power (CHP ) in the low power range. The small CHP systems allow the simultaneous production of electricity and heat on site in buildings. For about 10 years, Vaillant offers the technology already for multi-family and commercial. In 2011, the launch of the first micro-CHP system, which was specifically designed for use in one-and two -family house was done.
