Väinö Siikaniemi

Väinö Siikaniemi ( born March 27, 1887 in Hollola; † August 24, 1932 in Helsinki) was a Finnish athlete who was successful before the First World War as a javelin thrower in years.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 he walked both in single and in beidarmigen javelin at the start. In the single-arm throwing it did not reach the finals since only the top three throwers qualifications were admitted. With 52.43 meters he was more than three meters behind the Mór Koczan Hungary, won the bronze. In beidarmigen throwing hand, he was defeated with 101.13 m only his compatriot Julius Saaristo ( 109.42 m), the silver medalist in the single-arm throwing. Urho Peltonen with 100.24 m completed the triple Finnish triumph.
