Santa Maria Val Müstair

Val Müstair ( [ ˌ valmyʃtaɪ̯r ] / i;? German Münster ) is a municipality in the district of Val Müstair Inn of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

It was created on 1 January 2009 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities Fuldera, Lü Müstair, Santa Maria Val Müstair Tschierv and Valchava. The situation created by the fusion community is congruent with the county of the same name.

Slang is the Jawor.

Geography

You can reach the town Zernez in Engadine over the Ofen Pass. East of Müstair the boundary runs to the Vinschgau Valley (South Tyrol ), which also forms the Romansh - German language border. The local community Tubre also belongs geographically to the Munster Valley. From Sta. Mary leads the Umbrailpass the Valtellina. Through the valley flows the Rambach (Romansh Rome).

Naming convention
